In 1970 Craig Gilbert produced a PBS special entitled The Triumph of Christy Brown which profiled Irishman Christy Brown who was afflicted since birth with cerebral palsy and was able to use only his left foot. Dramatizing excerpts from Brown’s two autobiographical novels, “My Left Foot” and “Down All the Days,” The film includes footage of Brown at his favorite pub, at press parties, on a TV talk show, and at the opening of his art exhibit.
